In October 2019, regional Russian media and social networks reported an alleged poltergeist at a home in the Chechen village of Vastareina, where furniture — a bed and sofa — was said to spontaneously catch fire on circulated video. The resident reportedly invited Islamic clergy to recite from the Koran, and no official explanation was made public. Recorded by PRN as a reported/folkloric case — historical context, not proof.
