Investigation Summary

Leap Castle (County Offaly, Ireland) was most likely built around 1250 AD by the O'Bannon clan. The castle passed to the Darby family in 1642 and was burned in the Irish Civil War in 1922. ' During Darby renovation works, an oubliette containing human skeletal remains was reportedly discovered in the Bloody Chapel.

The castle has been privately owned by Irish musician Seán Ryan since 1991 and is open to visitors.
