Investigation Summary

Kilmainham Gaol (Dublin, Ireland) opened in 1796 and closed as a prison in 1924, holding prisoners across more than a century of Irish history including United Irishmen, Fenians, and Easter Rising leaders. Fourteen men were executed by firing squad in the Stonebreakers' Yard in May 1916; official Irish Military Archives records confirm all deaths. The gaol has operated as a National Monument museum (OPW) since 1966.

Paranormal claims circulate widely but have no primary-source documentation.
