Investigation Summary
Restored 19th-century British military fortification at Point Henry, Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Present fort constructed by British Royal Engineers 1832–1836 to defend the Rideau Canal entrance. Nils von Schoultz (Finnish-born American national, led rebels at Battle of the Windmill) hanged at Fort Henry 8 December 1838 (High confidence — documented execution).
79 rebel prisoners transported to Van Diemen's Land 1839. First permanent WWI internment camp in Canada 1914–1917. WWII Camp 31 (POW) 1940–1943; 19 prisoners escaped through unused privy/sewer pipe 26 August 1943.
Restored 1936–38; PM Mackenzie King formally opened as museum August 1938. National Historic Site 1923. Ghost Hunters (TAPS, Syfy, S5E17, broadcast 14 October 2009) named lead investigators Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson investigated; team reported knocking, dizziness, EMF hits, and a slamming door; show concluded fort is "definitely haunted" — Low confidence, TV entertainment production.
Anonymous Fort Henry staff accounts (Reddit, January 2013) describe footprints on parade square and doors slamming in an officer's room — Low confidence, anonymous, cannot be independently verified.
