Investigation Summary

Swedish vicarage constructed in 1876 in Borgvattnet, Jämtland, nationally known following the 4 December 1947 publication of an interview with Chaplain Erik Lindgren in *Länstidningen Östersund*, describing unusual experiences kept in a written journal since 1945. Bishop Torsten Bohlin of the Church of Sweden publicly confirmed Lindgren's accounts and announced a planned scientific investigation. Earlier accounts attributed to named clergy — Vicars Nils Hedlund (1927), Rudolf Tängdén (1930), and Otto Lindgren (1936) — became widely reported following national press coverage.

Diocese secretary Inga Flodin (1941) reported seeing three female figures seated on a sofa. The vicarage ceased clergy use in the early 1970s and now operates as a bed and breakfast under LaxTon Ghost Sweden. A maid-and-infant origin legend circulates widely but has no archival support.
