Investigation Summary

Bhangarh Fort is a ruined 16th–17th century fort town in Alwar, Rajasthan, protected by the Archaeological Survey of India and popularly called India's most haunted site. Folklore attributes its abandonment to a sorcerer's or holy man's curse, while historians cite famine, water scarcity and shifting trade routes; an ASI signboard barring entry after dark has fuelled its reputation. Recorded by PRN as a reported/folkloric case — historical context, not proof.
