Investigation Summary

A former military installation in Babenhausen, Hesse, Germany, with continuous military occupation from 1901 to 2007. The site served as an imperial German artillery barracks, WWI hospital, WWII POW camp, a Jewish displaced persons camp 1946–1949 (documented by the USHMM), and a US Army installation for 56 years. The most significant paranormal documentation is a December 1974 Stars and Stripes front-page article in which five named US Army personnel describe unexplained footsteps on locked upper floors of the HQ building; the reporter and off-duty staff conducted two overnight investigations and reported the same phenomena.

The Hexenturm (Witch's Tower) in the town centre is a verified historical monument associated with 17th-century witch trials. The phenomena themselves remain unverified; multiple named witnesses provide a stronger evidential baseline than most comparable cases.
